Job Description

The Gardens of Statesville Assisted Living and Memory Care is seeking a dependable and compassionate team member to support daily food service operations in a healthcare or residential care setting. In this role, you will help prepare and deliver meals, maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining environment, and contribute to a positive dining experience for residents, patients, or guests.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing, portioning, and serving meals and snacks according to established guidelines
• Follow dietary instructions and meal plans as directed by the nutrition or food service team
• Set up dining areas and ensure meals are delivered in a timely and accurate manner
• Support special diet and texture-modified meal requirements as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in food preparation, serving, and storage areas
• Wash dishes, utensils, trays, and equipment according to facility procedures
• Monitor food supplies and assist with stocking, rotation, and inventory control
• Communicate respectfully with residents, patients, coworkers, and other departments
• Report concerns related to food safety, equipment, or service to the appropriate team member
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control policies and procedures

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous food service, cafeteria, or healthcare dining experience preferred
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and food safety
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift items associated with food service tasks
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends or holidays as needed

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of basic food handling and sanitation practices
• Experience working with therapeutic or modified diets
• Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment
• Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude
