Family Court announces the opening of a Diversion Officer position. A Diversion Officer is responsible to conduct informal Diversion Hearings with youth and families. S/he is responsible to identify risk and need for services using appropriate screening tools; develop terms of diversion and/or plan of services based on needs; and monitor youth's compliance with agreed terms. The Diversion Officer shall facilitate referrals to appropriate community agencies as needed, and apply conflict resolution and mediation skills when necessary. S/he compiles information as needed from schools, victims of crime, or other parties involved.
[Must possess the ability to work independently; maintain good public relations as a Court representative; establish and maintain effective work relationships with associates and job contacts; positively engage with youth and families; maintain confidentiality of sensitive information; exhibit good organizational skills; establish and implement an effective system of supervision; get along with people and work as a member of a team. Should have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to learn and utilize the computer system as related to the Diversion Officer position.]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}
[Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work or a related Social Services field required. Minimum of 3 years of experience working with youth and/or families.]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}
