H.F. Lenz Company, a nationally recognized consulting engineering firm is ‎seeking Engineering Interns for our 2027 Summer Internship Program. Our multi-disciplinary ‎engineering teams are built on the core values of professional development, dedicated service, and ‎collaboration. ‎We are seeking Mechanical/HVAC Engineering Interns to work out of our headquarters in Johnstown, PA.

Our summer internship program at HFL cultivates future engineering professionals, looking to gain ‎hands-one, real-world experience to enhance their education and professional skills. It's an ‎opportunity for students to get to know us and for us to learn about you. ‎

Requirements/Responsibilities

What You'll Get:‎
• Real-world skills building system design focused in HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Protection.‎

What You'll Get to Do:‎
• Support a variety of engineering tasks related to mechanical system design.‎
• Learn basic principles of mechanical system design, focused in HVAC, plumbing and fire ‎protection systems.‎
• Function as part of the design team and utilize engineering design concepts.‎
• Become an expert with Autodesk Revit.‎
• Perform basic engineering calculations.‎
• Assist in engineering related studies and surveys.‎
• Coordinate designs with multiple-disciplinary project teams.‎
• Travel to project sites and assist with existing condition surveys.‎

What You'll Need:‎
• Enrolled in an accredited Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering program.‎
• Knowledge of 2D and 3D modeling, including AutoCAD and Revit.‎
• Proficiency with basic computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.‎
• Academic coursework that is relevant to building systems (HVAC) is preferred.‎
• Self-motivated with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• A strong interest and desire to learn building systems design and construction.‎
• Prior internship experience is preferred, but not required.‎
