About the Role

Prominent Hill is home to a team that's more than 80% South Australian. You can build a strong mining career without leaving SA, with direct flights from Adelaide (1.5hrs) or Port Augusta (45 minutes).

You'll be extracting the copper that goes into electric vehicle batteries, solar panel wiring, and wind turbine components. Every day, you're contributing to Australia's clean energy future.

In this role, you’re not just generating schedules—you’re defining how the entire underground operation functions over the next year, five years, and beyond.

Your scheduling decisions directly influence production performance, stope sequencing, development priorities, and business value.

You'll join a collaborative team where people listen to your ideas for improvements. Safety isn't just a slogan here—it's how we look out for each other every day.

8 days on, 6 days off roster gives you a regular rhythm - focused work periods followed by extended time at home.

In this role you will:

• Coach scheduling engineers, uplift capability, and build a culture focused on quality planning, continuous improvement, and innovative thinking.
• Work with a modern UG mining operation that encourages creativity and supports smart solutions—not one that sticks to “this is how we’ve always done it”.
• Be the technical expert others turn to—the person who connects geology, geotech, ventilation, operations, and planning into one coherent, realistic schedule.
• Stay hands‑on with Deswik and underground scheduling while shaping long-term strategy
• Have a strong pathway into Integrated Planning or Technical Services Leadership

About You

• Apply your problem-solving skills to real-world challenges, with guidance from experienced engineers

• Enjoy being able to influence a wide range of stakeholders and gathering information

• Expertise with Deswik software; we will expand your knowledge as required

• Strong understanding of UG mining value drivers: development sequencing, stope layouts, drill & blast cycles, backfill management, ventilation interactions, and equipment productivity
