Position: Mechanical Engineering Expert

Type: Contract

Compensation: $85–$93/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 20 hours/week

Role Responsibilities

• Author technical tasks to evaluate AI model performance on mechanical engineering problems.
• Review and annotate tasks involving diagrams, figures, and schematics.
• Produce original problem sets and write reference solutions.
• Apply structured quality checks to ensure task accuracy.
• Work independently and asynchronously with a flexible schedule to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

Must-Have

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering , or MS with 3+ years of applied experience, or BS with 5+ years in design, simulation, or manufacturing.
• Working fluency in at least two of: statics/dynamics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, machine design, or heat transfer.
• Comfortable with engineering drawings, free-body diagrams, and performance curves.

Preferred

• Prior teaching, tutoring, or technical writing experience.
