Requirements
At least five (5) years of experience directly related to occupational health.
Shall have knowledge of applicable federal, State of California and local regulations, including workers' compensation laws.
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing or an accredited physician assistant program and a current license to practice as an Adult or Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner (CA Board of Registered Nursing - ) or Physician Assistant (Physician Assistant Board - ) in the State of California are required; license must be free from disciplinary actions.
National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Certification in spirometry, American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Certification in audiometry, and American Heart Association (AHA) Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
Shall have the ability to effectively consult with others and independently resolve a variety of complex problems as well as a strong understanding of technical processes, applicable safety regulations, and program/project management. Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
Shall have knowledge of additional occupational health fields such as industrial hygiene, health physics and occupational safety.
Shall be able to sit at a desk and/or be on their feet and walking at least eight (8) hours a day. Subcontractor personnel shall be able to assume and maintain various postural positions including, but not limited to, kneeling, reaching, stooping, bending, crouching, and lifting.
Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) or Certified Occupational Health Nurse - Specialist or (COHN-S) certification.
Have statistical analysis skills, the ability to interpret regulations, knowledge of the regulatory process and experience in monitoring regulatory developments.
