Quality Assurance Specialist (Bilingual Preferred)

Location: Oxnard, CA

Shift: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday

Schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Pay Rate: $26.00 – $30.00 per hour (DOE)

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Quality Assurance Specialist to support our food manufacturing and quality operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring product quality, food safety compliance, and successful commercialization of new and existing products.

The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. If you have a strong quality background and are passionate about food safety and continuous improvement, we’d like to hear from you.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory analyses including:
    • Moisture testing
    • Water activity testing
    • Agtron and Hunter color evaluations
    • Bulk index and bulk density testing
    • Sieve analysis
    • Shelf-life evaluations
    • Organoleptic (sensory) testing
  • Assist with sample collection, evaluation, processing, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, ingredient specifications, GMPs, and food safety programs.
  • Maintain inventories of new product, innovation, and finished goods samples.
  • Conduct product matching evaluations and communicate results to key stakeholders.
  • Prepare, label, photograph, package, and ship samples for third-party testing.
  • Verify, calibrate, sanitize, and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Coordinate shelf-life studies and report findings.
  • Maintain laboratory records, sample logs, and quality documentation.
  • Support first production sample collection and commercialization activities.
  • Participate in GMP inspections, internal audits, and food safety initiatives.
  • Travel to satellite facilities as needed to collect samples.
  • Assist with vendor management, specifications, pest control programs, and quality systems.
  • Support FSMA compliance efforts and food safety programs.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of GMPs and food safety fundamentals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or related field.
  • 2-5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Food Safety, or food manufacturing.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment.
