Job Description

About Kong: Kong Inc. (konghq.com) is the leading developer of cloud-native API management and AI connectivity technologies, purposefully building the foundational cloud infrastructure that powers the agentic era. Trusted by the Fortune 500 and pioneering startups alike, Kong’s unified API and AI connectivity platform, Kong Konnect, enables modern decentralized organizations to secure, manage, accelerate, govern, and monetize the flow of intelligence across distributed web APIs and advanced large language models. Kong equips high-agency delivery specialists with an uncompromised software canvas to guide complex technology consulting tracks, lead multi-disciplinary delivery pods, and streamline large-scale cloud-native infrastructure integrations asynchronously.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical, connection-obsessed, and systems-minded Engagement Manager / Senior Programme Manager to join our world-class Professional Services and Field Engineering division under a permanent, full-time remote engagement framework based in England. Operating as the primary strategic touchpoint and execution compass for our enterprise client integrations, you will step up to claim true individual operational and milestone accountability over the end-to-end delivery of our core engineering services. Shifting completely away from passive task tracking, general administrative administrative logging, or isolated status checking, you will run an active enterprise integration lifecycle, complex resource allocation, and multi-layered technical risk triage laboratory—partnering face-to-face with enterprise architects, product engineering pods, global account management, and client C-suite executives. This position requires a delivery veteran who structures intricate multi-stakeholder roadmaps fluidly natively using Project Management methodologies, evaluates pipeline execution health cleanly using data-driven metrics, and guides deep infrastructure projects confidently to maximize client platform adoption and business value.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Delivery Architecture: Lead and orchestrate the comprehensive strategic planning, framework scoping, and tactical execution of complex IT professional services deployments natively utilizing Project Management best practices.
  • Primary Client Relationship Governance: Serve as the primary, high-trust technical delivery advisor for enterprise customers, managing expectations and ensuring alignment across service deliverables and client strategic goals.
  • Resource Optimization and Modeling: Allocate, track, and balance cross-functional delivery engineering resources effectively to ensure technical sprints wrap up strictly within defined scope boundaries and timeline parameters.
  • Pre-Emptive Risk Remediation: Conduct persistent execution audits to intercept potential delivery blockers or scope-creep anomalies early, implementing precise mitigation frameworks to protect milestone velocity.
  • Quality Assurance Standardization: Enforce and refine structured post-delivery quality validation systems, running comprehensive project reviews to continuously improve professional service delivery playbooks.
  • API Concepts Simplification: Act as a strategic architectural translator, seamlessly articulating complex underlying backend API, runtime connectivity, and cloud-native network gateway topologies to non-technical business leaders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven, verified career history operating successfully as an Engagement Manager, Technical Program Manager, or senior delivery consultant within an enterprise IT or software-as-a-service (SaaS) ecosystem.
  • Masterful operational command over managing multi-layered technical integration lifecycles, with a deep focus on driving client satisfaction and optimizing implementation velocities.
  • Demonstrated capacity coordinating cross-functional technical teams (developers, solution architects, and systems engineers) natively utilizing Project Management strategies.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication clarity in English, allowing clear, persuasive interaction across internal technical pods and diverse enterprise customer profiles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and risk-modeling capabilities configured to quickly resolve performance obstacles throughout the implementation process.
  • Location Context: This position is configured exclusively for qualified enterprise delivery professionals living permanently in England to execute an autonomous work-from-home remote track.

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

  • Active Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or equivalent industry-standard delivery methodologies certification.
  • Deep conceptual familiarity with modern software connectivity paradigms, microservices, service meshes, cloud-native API gateways, or container orchestration platforms.
  • Familiarity navigating enterprise cloud collaboration architectures, resource trackers, and agile productivity boards including Asana, Slack, and Google Workspace.

What We Offer

  • Vetted, Market-Leading API Infrastructure Blueprint: A competitive, localized baseline corporate compensation structure aligned with your technical program management mastery, accompanied by comprehensive performance indicators.
  • The spectacular professional canvas to own and direct enterprise-grade infrastructure deployments for an elite developer platform trusted by the Fortune 500.
  • Profound work-from-home remote parameters offering an autonomous virtual framework across England, flexible schedule execution, and zero commuting friction.
  • An open, high-standard engineering culture focused heavily on unlocking intelligence, questioning assumptions, and solving hard tech problems that matter.
  • Comprehensive health, wellness, and professional resources engineered to empower distributed engineering groups globally.
