Job Description

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks a Senior Associate Scientist to join its neuroscience exploratory biology group in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The role involves characterizing disease-relevant neurobiological mechanisms using primary and iPSC-derived cellular systems to support target validation and mechanism-of-action studies for early-stage programs.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments exploring neurobiological mechanisms underlying disease-relevant pathways
• Culture and maintain primary neuronal cultures, iPSC-derived neurons, glia, and other in vitro neuroscience systems
• Perform target validation studies including genome editing and genetic perturbation approaches
• Conduct mechanism-of-action studies characterizing compound or genetic effects on neuronal and glial biology
• Analyze, document, and present data; contribute to experimental design discussions and cross-functional collaboration

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, or related field with 4+ years relevant experience
• Or Master's degree with 2+ years relevant experience
• Hands-on mammalian cell culture experience in academic, biotech, or pharma settings
• Proficiency with qPCR, JESS, ELISA, immunofluorescence, microscopy, and high-content imaging
• Direct experience with primary neuronal cultures and iPSC-derived neurons and glia
• Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute, troubleshoot, and document reproducible experiments
• Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally in fast-paced environment

Compensation: $105,040 - $127,287 base
