Professor Kenneth Dodge at the Sanford School of Public Policy seeks a Statistician to join him in conducting studies of early childhood development, prevention of violent behavior and early childhood interventions, their impact, and their mechanisms. These studies are funded by federally grants. This position is ideal for a scholar who aspires to an independent faculty position after several years.
The Statistician will work closely with colleagues from the Duke Center for Child and Family Policy (CCFP). The Center, established in 1999 under the leadership of Dr. Dodge, pursues science-based solutions to important problems affecting today’s children and families.
This position is a full-time two-year appointment beginning July 1, 2026.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience - Work requires a minimum of a Master's degree in statistics, (bio) statistics or related field and no relevant experience.
Or a Bachelor’s degree in statistics, (bio)statistics or related field and 2 years relevant experience.
OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate research design, data gathering, and analysis for research projects.
  • Co-author manuscripts for publication.
  • Participate in the implementation of research grants as needed.
  • Participate in the development of new grants.
  • Serve as “point of contact” for relevant research aides, program coordinators, and research analysts as required.

Anticipated Pay Range:
Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $70,806.00 to USD $114,388.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
