Bar Manager Job Description
Walker Hotel Tribeca
The Bar Manager is responsible for overseeing daily bar operations at Walker Hotel Tribeca, ensuring a high level of service, product quality, organization, and financial performance. This role works closely with the Food & Beverage leadership team to maintain standards, train staff, manage inventory, and create a welcoming guest experience that reflects the hotel’s hospitality style.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily bar service, including opening, closing, setup, cleanliness, and overall guest experience.
Lead, train, and support bartenders, barbacks, and service staff to ensure consistent service standards.
Maintain strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and zero-proof offerings.
Ensure all drinks are prepared according to approved recipes, presentation standards, and portion controls.
Manage bar inventory, ordering, receiving, storage, and monthly counts.
Monitor beverage cost, waste, comps, voids, and overall product usage.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service standards.
Work with management on seasonal menu updates, promotions, private events, and rooftop service needs.
Communicate clearly with kitchen, floor managers, hotel leadership, and ownership as needed.
Support the team on the floor during busy service periods, including bartending when necessary.
Handle guest feedback professionally and resolve issues in the moment.
Qualifications
Prior bar management or lead bartender experience required, preferably in a hotel, cocktail bar, restaurant, or rooftop environment.
Strong cocktail, spirits, wine, and service knowledge.
Ability to lead a team while maintaining a hands-on presence.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience with inventory, ordering, POS systems, and cost control preferred.
Professional, reliable, hospitality-driven, and comfortable working nights, weekends, and holidays.
