Our client is looking for a Communications Specialist to join their team to support and enhance their public image through strategic storytelling, media relations, and multi-channel communications. This role creates engaging content, supports public relations efforts, and helps communicate our client's impact to the public, media, and employees.
This role will require you to come onsite at least 3 days a week at their office located in Raleigh, NC.
- Create and produce compelling written and video content, including winner stories and prize announcements
- Support media relations by drafting media releases, pitching stories, responding to inquiries, and assisting with media events
- Promote lottery games, promotions, and initiatives across traditional, digital, and social media channels
- Develop internal communications content for employees, including intranet and LinkedIn updates
- Support public relations initiatives with messaging, presentations, talking points, speeches, videos, and website content
- Monitor media coverage and public sentiment; prepare reports and recommend opportunities to strengthen media relations
- Minimum 2 years of communications or related experience
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field
- Strong writing and storytelling skills for media releases, digital content, and social channels
- Experience supporting media relations and working with media contacts
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud tools (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects) and basic video production
- Familiarity with social media platforms, media monitoring tools, email marketing platforms, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to communicate clearly, manage multiple projects, and collaborate across teams
